Abstract: During the 1930s-1940s, the Catholic Church carried out various charitable activities, such as medical, educational, and poverty-relief works, in Saibei area, especially in the ethnically populated Suiyuan and Chahar area. All of these activities had made certain achievements. During the war time, the Catholic Church also organized medical teams to care for the injured in Church-run hospitals. At the same time, the Church called on their faithful to raise fund to support the anti-Japanese war. Meeting the needs of farmers, the Church delivered seeds during the Spring season, and food and clothes during the Winter. By setting up orphanages and schools, the Catholic Church provided not only shelters for the orphans but also education to the ordinary people. The contributions are very obvious.
